Most people picture family engagement as a building-level thing. Back to school night. The parent-teacher conference. The sign-up sheet for classroom volunteers taped up by the front office. That picture is not wrong. It is just incomplete.

For several years, Coaction Collective has partnered with Dallas Independent School District (Dallas ISD) to strengthen family engagement across the district. This week, that partnership was reflected in two sessions that brought different teams together around a shared goal: creating meaningful connections with families that support student learning and success.
