Family–School Partnerships

Strengthening family partnerships can be challenging, but research shows that meaningful family engagement is a necessary component for sustained school improvement.¹

We are the right partner to help!

We connect family engagement to existing district and school priorities for student success. Aligned with the principles of the Dual Capacity-Building Framework for Family–School Partnerships, we help districts close training gaps and build educator and family capacity for strong partnerships. Our work brings educators and families together to improve academic outcomes for students.

Live Virtual Educator Learning Series

Our interactive, live professional development sessions equip educators with hands-on techniques and practical tools they can use immediately to strengthen family engagement. Coaction Collective partners with schools, districts, and state agencies to design, implement, evaluate, and award continuing education credits for high-impact professional learning.

Check out some of the sessions we’ve created for clients here. These examples are provided for reference. Anything we do for you will be adapted to fit your specific context and audience.

I appreciated the focus on relationship-building rather than problem-solving, especially the emphasis on listening to families as partners and recognizing their expertise about their child. The role-play and call scripts were practical and immediately applicable to real classroom practice.

Asynchronous Micro Credentials

Our self-paced modules equip educators with actionable skills to build strong partnerships with families while earning credentials that demonstrate their expertise.

Our Family Engagement micro-credential provides practical strategies that educators can apply immediately. This professional learning model drives immediate action and delivers measurable results for schools.

Over 1400 educators across New Mexico completed a Coaction Collective-designed micro-credential and reported an average survey rating of 4.66 out of 5, demonstrating a high level of confidence in implementation. Additionally, 95% of participants agreed or strongly agreed that they could put the concepts into practice right away.

District and State Level Capacity Building

We build district-wide capacity by developing staff into confident, skilled family engagement leaders. We provide comprehensive training, implementation tools, and ongoing coaching that aligns with district goals and priorities.

Our team works alongside district leaders to strengthen systems, refine policies, and embed family engagement into everyday practice. We support districts in creating clear plans, building internal leadership pipelines, and using data to guide decision-making. This approach ensures that family engagement efforts are not one-time initiatives, but sustainable, scalable systems that drive long-term impact.

Coaction Collective took the time to listen to what we needed and strategize around what might be the most useful end product. It was exactly what we were looking for.

Educator and Family Resources

We design and deliver high-quality resources that equip both educators and families to engage as true partners in student success. Our materials include toolkits, guides, communication templates, and culturally responsive resources that educators can use in real-world settings.

These resources help educators build trust, communicate effectively, and create inclusive opportunities for family participation. At the same time, they equip families with clear, accessible tools to support their children’s learning and engage confidently with schools. By aligning resources for both educators and families, we help districts create consistent, meaningful engagement experiences across every school and community.

I am the 7th grade team leader at our school, and I really appreciate the tangible resource you shared. I made 40 copies and gave them to all the teachers on our team. Many thanks.

Community Input Listening Tours

Alongside our partners, we conduct comprehensive listening tours with families, educators, and district leaders to make sure your time and resources address the right challenges and seize the right opportunities. We analyze the findings and provide clear, actionable recommendations that we can help you implement right away.

By grounding every step in authentic family input, we ensure that the strategies we develop are relevant, inclusive, and actionable. This approach leads to solutions that communities trust, educators can implement, and systems can sustain.

Because of our work today, I have more curiosity about our families’ personal experiences in education, [and can] identify their assets and empower them to be part of their student’s success.
