The countdown is on! Less than two months until @sxswedu, and Coaction Collective is excited to be joining the conference for the first time.

We’re showing up the way we always do: ready to listen, learn, and connect with educators, organizers, and community builders who are asking big questions about what schools and systems can be. Our exhibit table will be a space to swap stories, share what we’re learning, and hear what’s on your mind.

We’re also thrilled that Mike was selected as a presenter, sharing his work at the intersection of family engagement, Black Fatherhood and building community.

Diana is kicking off the year with our friends at @nafsce_org (National Association for Family, School, and Community Engagement), joining their team retreat in San Diego to begin shaping this year’s National Assembly. Being part of these early planning conversations, listening, dreaming, and thinking together about what educators, families, and community leaders most need right now, is one of our favorite parts of the work. The retreat is happening at the very site—the Town & Country Resort in San Diego—of the 2026 Assembly, and it’s an incredible space!

There’s something special about being in the room, imagining the conversations, connections, learning, and joy that will fill the resort this October. We’re already buzzing about what’s ahead. Trust us, this is one event you won’t want to miss.

As we close out 2025, we’ve been reflecting on the partnerships and shared work that shaped our year. From South Dakota to Alaska, we had the privilege of working alongside districts, organizations, and community leaders committed to strengthening family engagement, elevating community voice, and building people-centered systems.

Across every project, one truth held steady: strong systems start with strong relationships. In a year marked by political tension and real challenges, educators, families, students, and community partners continued to show up for one another with honesty, creativity, and care. We’re deeply grateful for the trust you placed in us, the thinking we did together, and the opportunity to be in relationship as this work moved forward.

As we look toward 2026, we feel grounded in these relationships and energized by what’s ahead. Wishing you rest, joy, and meaningful connection this season, and a strong start to the new year.
